I went to SAHS for high school and had a wonderful experience. I think that the classes are very challenging and prepared me for college level courses. The senior english courses were very helpful for SAT prep. I took AP environmental science, and there were tons of hands-on in the field trips that were fun. Also the sports teams are a big part of school there, and there is one for everyone to join. I would definitly recommend sending a child here.
Perfect school! The information technology department put me on the right track to becoming an award winning Network Administrator for the USAF. Thank you Mr. Hazlett!
This fine institution offers such a large branch of educational opportunities.
The Souderton Area High School is among the best in Montgomery and Bucks County. It has nearly 1600 students who consistently succeed to and beyond the state of Pennsylvania's Standards. This high school also shows 93% of its students to an institution of higher education after graduation. Athletically, Souderton has become one of the most difficult competitors at league, District 1 and state levels, becoming victorious at the AAAA (most difficult) division of state compitition. During the fall and winter 2005-2006 sports seasons, the Souderton Indians tallied 4 Sub One League Championships, 3 District 1 Championships, and one State Title in Water Polo. Other championship teams include: basketball, mens soccer, womens field hockey. All teams are supported by very proud Souderton student fans. This is clearly one of the primier public schools in the BUX-MONT Area, one which any parent or student would be honored to be affiliated with.
Souderton Area High School, in general, presents a positive educational experience. It's strongest accademic departments are english, history, latin, physics, and computer science; whereas it is weakest in mathematics, french, and chemistry. A diverse variety of sports are offered at Souderton. The swimming, water polo, and volleyball team are some of the best in the state, and other sports such as track and field are also well run. The football team, however, has recently suffered a long losing streak. Souderton's music and art programs are both strong, in particular, the jazz band and drumline have excellent reputations. Souderton offers a large number of art courses, ranging from pottery to digital animation. The school, while becoming more populated due to a population increase in the district, maintains a reasonably low teacher to student ratio. School facilities - in particular, the computer labs and the pool, are excellent.
I believe this high school is amazing, there are a few kinks they need to work out, such as administration but overall I think students learn well in this environment. There is little or no fighting and a humoungous amount of things students can be involved in on campus. With the addition of a new high school in a few years the school will only get better!
