I am writing specifically to discuss the issue of bullying. My daughter is currently the victim of a bully and the bullying has extended to phone calls at home of an almost but not quite enough of a threatening nature. We've asked three times for the school's cooperation to eliminate the at-school component of the bullying and have been ignored at every attempt. It is my strong belief that the truth about bullying in Spring-Ford lies not in the district being a safe environment but in that where the district silently condones bullying by not acting and demonizing the victims to the point of silence. This is the second elementary school in the district (the first being Evans, which is a pit of inappropirate management) in the last two years where one of my daughters has had their year ruined by a bully and the staff doing nothing.

The class sizes are small. I had one child in learning support and the other was not. I felt that this school worked very well with my family. My kisd loves going there and had a great expirence.

While the class sizes are small there are significant problems with the Special Education Programs. Classroom is run based on how the teacher does things, not the needs of our child (this is illegal). Further, she has expressed low expectations for our child and has even recommended watering down the curriculum before changing the way she does things. After comparing IEPs with other parents we have seen a 'cookie cutter' approach for developing our child's individual program. If you are willing to be a strong advocate for your child, or your child does not require any intervention, this could be a good choice due to the small class sizes.

Spring City Elementry School is great for someone seeking a close-knit environment. Because it is a small school the teachers are able to give each student the attention they need. The music programs are especially outstanding!

I love our school! The children get such a wonderful sense of community. I always say we are getting a private school education at a publis school cost.
