I like the teachers. I have a slight relationship with the principal, I talk to her sometimes and she's very nice. Though, I feel that almost every teacher throws me under the rug. I've been in this school district all my life, and I've been harrassed most of the time. Gets worse and worse every year, and always by someone different. When I tell on someone, I go in order the events happened, when I'm about to get to the part that hurt me the most, I'm cut off. I have been thinking about changing schools because of this, the only thing holding me back is my fear of telling my parents and my unwillingness to leave my new friends I made since I've became a freshmen. In middle school, we had to be checked for two days and once at the end of school because of the bomb threats up in the high school! I only giveing this a 2/5 because the teachers are amazeingly nice, minus a few here and there.

I have been a parent in this school district for 15 years. The school has drastically changed for the worse in the last 3 years. The conclusion being bomb threats and students being arrested. I am concerned what will happen next within the school. Principals do not have a relationship with their student body. It seems that the only relationship they do have is one of the school bully. They can not have it both ways why is SG the only highschool round that seems to always be in the news for threats and bomb scares? Rediculous!! I am seriously considering placing my children in another school district where I know they will be treated with respect when they reach the highschool level.

My kids have all gone to this district since they started K and I have had very small issues only and think that the school overall is excellent! The teachers take time to help, there are so many opportunities for students here and as I look around at our other options, I find that am disappointed by them. I hope to find a district who offers the same quality as I have found here! In two years my first will graduate and I know that she was given the opportunities and choices that she needs to start off well when she arrives at college!

SGHS is very strong in the sciences, with college level material offered in the honors classes. Math and foreign languages are opportunities for improvement. Administration's focus on PSSA scores and 'teaching to the test' is a threat to the quality of education. An apparent rift between building administration and faculty is disappointing. The faculty in general is above average and needs to be treated like the professionals they are in order to maintain educational quality.

I am currently a junior at the high school. It is an ok school to go to. There are a lot of problems with racisim and violence. I mean it's pretty sad that we can't even carry around our books in a bookbag. I feel like the 100+ cameras put in the school is just embarassing. It shows how immature our school is because we need cameras watching our every move. The lunches are terrible and so is the administration. The school board should have never built a multi-million dollar stadium for teams that are horrible anyway. And $2.50 for lunches is ridiculous!!!

Under the newer administration, I am finding SGAHS a really great school. My daughter is motivated when it comes to doing her schoolwork, comes home from school with a positive attitude and takes lots of pride in her work. I am sure this change is due to the many wonderful teachers and administrators!

There are some things about Spring Grove that every student would like to change. But overall the school is fantastic, its close knit and the teachers actually get to know us individually. I love this school and its much more challenging and educational than any Maryland school I have been to.

I am a student at this school and i hate it. the staff is bad and the tutoring after school is bad. i have one tutor who is good but when i saw another tutor for another subject she had to do something way less important that day even though she was schudled for that day! the staff is careless the food is horrible and the teaching stinks which is why i moved to private school.

Spring Grove Are a High School is the most close minded school I have ever been to. Most of the kids there are racist and I have a very difficult time accepting new cultures. this school has emotionally wore me out some of the kids are very open minded and helped out during this time. However the administration is taking little steps to end all the racism. But my opinion Spring Grove needs about 5 more years to be ready to except new cultures.

I graduated from SGASH in 2005.During that time the current building had been deteriorating, was very overcrowded. Since then, a new $50 million building is under construction, along with a new athletic complex and natatorium. However the problems with this district do not stop with the facilities. The few teachers who were open minded were limited in action by the administration, and the rest of the student and faculty body were very closed minded, mirroring the surrounding district. Overall I think this growing area/ district has a lot of potential but has not yet met educational expectations.

We have found that this school placed very little emphasis on education. They are far too concerned about their appearances. The only children who get noticed seem to be those in the top or bottom percentile. Academically this school is failing.

I went to this school and it was a disgrace. I got sick and they had no program set up for home tutoring like every public school should. Then when the term was over they actually attempted to fail me. Plus, they keep raising taxes yet don't spend any money at all on the children. The desks are broken, there's no air conditioning, and supplies are lacking. This entire district is awful.

Very conservative, non-risk taking school. In some classes the students have to teach themselves in order to even scrape a C on an exam, particularly in the Honors Courses. Though the school is making strides, I feel we need AP classes, healthier lunches, a recycling program, and to be more involved with global issues. Shifts in the administration have made progress increasingly difficult, and continued attempts on my part have gone unnoticed. Basically: it has potential, but right now things are far from perfect.

I love this school, the counselors, the teachers, the leadership, the school board. The kids and their safety come first. Every child is encouraged to be the best they can.

Lots of great kids with a staff that really cares! The high school is large in numbers but you find that personal touch w/ a highly involved staff. A new program supported by a federal grant has made 'small learning communities' possible at the high school. Teachers receive training to personalize their teaching styles to meet the needs of students and to help guide students in their career decisions.

the teachers are to eager to expel a child in other words not deal with them or help a student , they are not very good with supporting a problem child or helping them, most student ive seen havent learned very much!
