Spring Grove Area Middle School

I have children in the Spring Grove school district. I have been impressed with all of the schools my son started out in the fourth grade and went all the way thought to the high school. I have a child in Elementary and Middle now. I am originally from Maryland and the schools are horrible. The standards are very high in Spring Grove and I am happy with SGASD.

In my opinion the general thought in this school is to 'get the kids through'. Not a lot of emphasis is put into helping a child who works hard but still struggles. The kids are slipping through the cracks and as long as they are getting a 65 and passing- that is all that counts. Calls to guidance staff go unreturned.

I am a student here at Spring Grove Middle School. Our school has many academic programs.For example we have mixed chorus,this chorus has boys and girls singers, and girls chorus,only girl singers. We also have many sportslike, track, baseball, basketball, volley ball, and many other sports. The Spring Grove Middle school has foreign languages too.You can pick from flex only if you're in 7th grade.In flex you have 2 marking periods of spanish and 2 marking periods of german.In 8th grade you can choose from german 1 or spanish 1. Our school is a very fun and exciting school, but it is strict. but its not as strict as maybe some other schools can be.For example at our school we'll have spirit weeks and team days.Also every year we have a dance for the cancer children called the Four Diamonds Fund.Well I hope that you find this useful and it helps.
