This intermediate school is lacking in addressing the social development of its students. Social problems such as bullying, nasty rumors, etc. have overflowed to this school from the high school located across the street. The age of the Intermediate School students is too young (grades 5 and 6). The quality of the curriculum is also lacking and too much emphasis is placed on how to perform well on the PSSAs instead of learning the basics of math, science, and English. Adminstration focuses more on making things look good on paper than addressing the issues and providing a productive environment for students.

I have a daughter in the fourth grade at PV elementary school. I have always been very pleased with the quality of education and care that she recieves there. So far this year, all I hear about is school and how wonderful the teacher is. Homework time is fun for her and at the same time, she is learning. What they are teaching children these days, I am simply amazed. I don't remember learning some of these things until junior high school. I can say nothing but great things about the teachers, school, and quality of education. In addition to learning, they allow our children to be kids, having fun when appropriate!
