My son attends here and loves to come to school each day! He jumps out of bed and is excited every day for school. The teachers are so loving and truly want the best for my son. It is amazing. We LOVE this school!
We moved to State College in part for their reputation of having an excellent public school system, then decided to enroll our children in Nittany Christian based on location, Christian values, and friends' recommendations. We've been impressed with the level of education, and more importantly the love and caring the staff shows to our children. It is also wonderful to watch them grow their love for Christ, and to have Him at the center of their lives. NCS has been an education beyond our expectations!
While this school offers great academic advantages and afterschool activities/sports it is only for the average, typical child. As this is a private school it does not have the resources to help special needs children. I know of multiplle parents at this school who were not advised to have their children tested until the later grades, when they should have been tested and diagnosed at much earlier time periods. While the school's 'we can help ever individual student in their own way' seems to be a nice thought, the reality is these kids didn't get the help they needed early enough. There are multiple teachers on staff who are fairly new to teaching and have some great ideas, but lack the experience needed to deal with problems as they arise. The principal is a good-hearted Christian, but often gives too much lead to the students in discipline issues.
My own children attend NCS in the lower grades and I can't say enough wonderful things about the individual student care and compassion shown at this school. NCS's music (shows for parents and friends throughout the year and weekly classes), fine art (annual art show and contest, weekly classes), sports (including fencing, track, soccer, and more) are offered through NCS every year to students who keep a minimum GPA. Parents of the PTF (Parent teacher fellowship) are in love with not only the students, but with the staff at NCS as well. They recognize the effort it takes to make sure each student is living to his/her fullest potential in the school, world, and Christian faith. I would recommend NCS!
My children attend Nittany Christian, and we are so happy with the school. It's a good feeling knowing that we are sending our children to a school with such a positive atmosphere. The teachers are so good at keeping in touch with parents. My sons love this school and wouldn't consider going anywhere else. If you desire a quality education in a christian environment, this is the place for you.
