Probably the best public charter school in Pennsylvania for younger grades. The administrator-principal is exceptionally knowledgeable and welcoming. The teachers are among the best in the district. Parent involvement is welcomed and widely practiced, much more so than in the traditional public schools where parents are often considered to be an annoyance. Our child thrives.

My son attended Wonderland Charter School for his Kindergarten grade. It was a wonderfully structured, full day learning experience for him. He was fortunate to attend a school with two certified teachers in the classroom, and he certainly benefited from the individualized learning philosophy. Compared to other Kindergarten programs, my son was enriched with authentic hands-on learning and community based field trips to support his learning. Academically, my son exited Wonderland with a second grade reading level, as demonstrated on standardized tests and a above grade level math score. Two years later, he still talks about how much he learned during that year and how he misses everyone from Wonderland! Lastly, as a Reading Specialist and Special Education Teacher, I have assessed and worked in primary classrooms. The children who graduate from Wonderland are heads above in their academic skills.

I LOVE WONDERLAND. My daughter went for K grade and I could not have been happier. She learned how to read and write. Decode words and more. She is now in 3rd grade reading and writting at a 5-6 grade level. She has excellent study habits and is a confident with her fantastic grades. All thanks to the great start she had at Wonderland. Her new little sister will go to Wonderland for K grade as well. As parent we need to give our kids a great start and that is what we got at Wonderland.

While at first look Wonderland's structured kindergarten day may seem a bit much for young learners, the environment is wonderful and promotes learning and socialization. Children learn the basics, ABCs, 123s, and go far beyond, with most of them being able to read at the first, second, or third grade levels by the end of the year. Math skills are also emphasized, as are science, geography and social studies, art, music, and interactive play time. There are two teachers per classroom and a low headcount in the rooms, which is very beneficial for working with children in smaller groups or when certain students need a little more one on one time with a subject. The students receive academic, social, and emotional growth opportunities and truly enjoy going to school each day.
