From 2nd grade I have attended Stroudsburg Area School District. But upon reaching 10th grade, my educational experience took a hit. Many classes are simply packet based rather than instruction being given. Favoritism is far too common. On many occasions I will raise my hand and either be ignored, or looked at as if I am not trying to make a positive contribution to class. It is as if some teachers and administrators cant get over their own ego. Now in 11th grade and trying to do well, my guidance counselor has ruined my schedule, making me take a class which i have already passed a higher level of. The councilor did this after my schedule had been perfect, and looked me in the eye and told me that he didn't think I was good enough to do the class. He has done this to my brother and sister, who have both attended, and found that had it not been for some outside tutoring, they would have practically learned nothing. I must warn against Stroudsburg High School as there is a tension and unfairness to the building which has a detrimental effect on a students education.

Stroudsburg High School provides a quality education. Their dress code promotes equality among students and eliminates the need to one up one another with their clothes. I know the kids don't always appreciate it, but as a parent and educator it is a big advantage. All the teachers and administrators I have interacted with have been courteous and willing to go the extra mile for the kids. Just like most things you get out of it what you put into it. We looked at all the schools in the area and moved to Stroudsburg to attend this school.

This is a School not worth taking your child to, us students have to walk through a construction site pretty much everyday to get in the High School. The principal doesn't put a effort into making this a good school, all he does is give his little speech at the beginning of the school year. The dress code is never in order, I'm pretty sure someone gets sent to the office almost every week due to it. I don't even understand why we have one in the first place, its a public school, people are still keeping there pants down. The dress code didn't fix anything. A few years ago they stopped most school trips and some clubs due to being "low on money funds." Then explain why they are spending almost over a million dollars on rebuilding the school. which aka is the construction site I mentioned. The only decent thing this school has is a good athletic team and decent teachers. If I was a parent right now and if my kid was in this school, I'd take em out of the school. I'd recommend Cyber school or Home school. Or even take Est Stroudsburg high school if your desperate. I maybe a student but If you want a honest answer about this school. This is it.

Stroudsburg High School can be commended for their high standards and excellence in education. In particular, we compliment the Music, Arts/Photography, and English Departments. Our son is a student at Kutztown University, in search of a degree in Art Education. He is finding that some of the classes he is taking are very easy for him, because Stroudsburg High School has already taught him many of the things that some of the students are just beginning to learn. As a result of this, the professors at Kutztown recognized this, and have given my son other challenges and opportunities, to advance to the next level. The teachers and the opportunities are available at Stroudsburg to all that are willing to take on the challenges. With dedication, and hard work, their future opportunities are endless!

Stroudburg HS has yet to correct the class ranking problem that has existed for several years. In addition, several faculty members should not be teaching in any school anywhere due to their lack of communication, ability, focus. The administration and guidance office hides behind the assumption that our children are able to listen to verbal announcements regarding upcoming events crucial to their college futures-ie, college fairs, tests, etc. Guidance and adminstration have no control over faculty. Conflicts are not properly addressed and avoided. Security remains an issue - theft is rampant and there are no repercussions for any minor crimes.
