I had to pull my son out of this school! it was terrible he cried every time he had to go, the teacher left him on the playground alone when all others came inside, the teachers and staff are rude and don't care about anything but there big paycheck!! The teachers only worry about there tenure and $$$$

My son attends Valley Elementary and my wife and I are very pleased with most aspects of the school. The Teachers have been excellent so far. The administration has been very helpful as well. As for the student body, I've found that although not very diverse, they are kind and decent kids. The negative comments that I've read appeare to be from angry parents without knowledge of how this school functions. There will always be room for improvement at any school, but Valley Elementary is a good, safe and friendly school.

This is an absolutely terrible school. There are so many problems in Valley Elementary/Middle School. Overall, it is the worst place to send your kids in the Hazleton School District. The academics, student body, and extra-cirricular are all bad.

Valley Elementary/Middle School is, by far, the worst public school in Pennsylvania, and definately in Hazleton as well as the Hazleton School District. I do not believe that it has good values, the kids are bad, it is overrun by people who dont accept others for who they are...It is too disorganized and is in utter chaos. Not the place to send your kids. I do not like it.

Principal is apathetic, period. Doesn't solve problems, doesn't interact with or lead staff or students, doesn't handle any issues - somehow he got a good vice who does her best to clean up his messes.

Parental involvement is still strong. The children are allowed to talk at recess and lunch. Maybe getting 2 new administrators in the same school year has been difficult on everyone, but change is never easy. The PTA is not elitist. They would love for more parents to get involved and volunteer. There is a lot to do and only a finite number of parents and/or teachers willing to put themselves out there to do it. New ideas and opinions are always welcome.

Valley has always been a great school with caring and dedicated faculty (with some exceptions). Since the new administration took over this year, the school feels more like a military academy. Student individuality and social skills are being eliminated. No talking at lunch or on the playground. Reducing parental involvement at the school. The PTA is controlled by a handful of elitists that care nothing about improving education or new ideas or opinions. It's the female version of the old boys club. We are moving back to Ohio in one week and I am glad we are out of this school. I never thought I would say that.

I have two children attending this school and I think it is the best school in the district. I will make sure that they stay in this shool through the 8th grade. The teachers are wonderful and the academics are good! The school is clean, the security is tight, and the discipline is in line. I feel safe leaving my kids there. Most of all my kids love the school. Anytime I mention moving, all I hear from them is 'do we have to change schools?' I won't move for just that reason alone! I feel it is important to go to a good school, make friends, and become active with the school (above the education). The memories that our children will build and the freindships that they will take with them to high school, college, and maybe for life are things that people learn to treasure. Thank You!

Most outstanding school in this district. I would consider other alternatives if my daughter had to attend a different Hazleton school. The teachers truly care about each student and call home when concerned. They push your child to their maximum potential. The learning support is excellent also - it actually pushed my child beyond where she was supposed to be. The principal is very caring also - he takes good care of his school!
