My son has been in CREC for 4 years now. I feel this school as a whole is mediocre at best. Some teachers are just there for a paycheck & it shows! The elementary kids are being transferred to the middle school this fall, I'm not happy about that at all. I feel they need to have nutritious lunches & breakfast Out of the 4 teachers he has had I would have to say I feel only 2 had what it takes to be a all around good teacher. My son has had a problem with the bus driver not allowing his seat to be switched bc my son was being bullied by older children. Called the principal to complain & she was defensive! We spoke to bus driver who said my son is lying & won't change his seat. He told my son to tell me that if I want his seat changed I can drive him to school! My son had a teacher that couldn't spell easy words.I noticed last year they watched a lot of movies during the year. There are a lot of parents that came here from NY & praise this school which should be an indicator that this school is the best of the bad, which isn't saying much for this school. We had enough of this school & we're moving to a better school district. IMO the elem kids going to middle school will be bad !!

I have two kids that attended CREC one still does. He's in Mrs.Roberts class ( who is a great teacher). Been with the school district for 61/2 years the one problem I have is that they no longer have swimming classes and the ski program they had. very disappointed my son won't get to do what his sister got to do.

The school using positive reinforcement tools for positive behavior.. the children receive little paws, super paws to redeem in a super paw cart.. small tokens for good behavior this.. starts in kindergarten through 5th grade.. my children love it.. and they are rewarded in different situations even for good behavior in the bus.

My son has been in this school for 2 years. I think is a great school. He gets all the help he needs for learning.

I had many concerns prior to my son starting school at Clear Run Elementary because of the bad reviews and because of word-of-mouth. It's been 6 months since he first started and I must say that I am really impressed with his teacher, the curriculum, the after-school programs and the ease of getting in contact with the faculty. I met with the principal and she was extremely helpful and my son's teacher is very good with children. I believe that my husband and I have enjoyed the school so much because we participate in the open houses, reading night, etc. My son enjoys learning and he really likes all of his teachers. It's been great thus far.

I think the school is great and it's the parents that need to do more to be involved.

I am fairly new to PA and my son is now attending CREC. His teacher Ms. Walsh is awesome and keeps me updated on my child's academics/concerns. Everyone I have met at the school has been very professional and very pleasant. The school is 100% better than where he last attended in NJ.

My daughter previously attended school in NYC and has always struggled academically due to the lack of services to provide additional help. However, since moving to PA and enrolling her in CRIS, her grades have improved tremendously and she is more enthusiastic about going to school. She never wants to miss a day and I'm happy about it. I also like the schools 0 tolerance to violence on the bus and in the school however, more attention needs to be given to students who are being picked on and provoked into reacting. If they were more proactive on preventing problems, they'd be right on point.

I feel the school would be a lot better if the parents were involved more. I do like the additional educational support for students who need it and the teachers are wonderful. But, to be honest, the reason we are moving is the quality of students. If parents were more involved with the kids, this school would be a five star. I think the teachers are doing the best they can provided what they are given.

I found CREC to be a great community of professional teachers and staff. Parent involvement is not as high as I would like to see due to the high percentage of commuting parents. The school is definitely ethnically diverse. There were some extracurricular activities available for older students.
