The administration and the teaching staff at Forbes are incredible. I have two kids that attend the school. They have had tremendous teachers. The PTA is very active and they support numerous activities for the kids. The school is small and only includes K-3.

I have 3 Children in Forbes. One of which has Behavioral problems that come with ADHD. This school, the teachers and principal are the best. I cant say enough about how they have helped my son. If you just look at a test score or rating and choose not to attend, you will are missing out on a top of line education for your child/children. The teachers and staff in general love what they do and I love the school for that.

I am a parent of two children who attend this school. I think this is one of the best scools in the Penn Hills school district. I have found that if parent's have a prpblem with the school most likely the problem lies with the parent. Teachers are there to teach not babysit. This school district has gone through many changes in the past few years. Many of which I am not happy with. However don't fault this school. I am very upset that this school will close within the next 2 years and then I may make a decision to look for education elsewhere. These teachers are great. My children have exceled at any and all work that has been thrown at them. I am very proud of this school.

Forbes Elementary is the best in my opinion. It is such a wonderful place to send your children. I have 2 children there and I don't think they would ever get a better education anywhere else. The teachers are spectacular. They love their jobs and love the kids. All the support staff is just as wonderful

About the tests

In 2011-2012 Pennsylvania used the Pennsylvania System of State Assessments (PSSA) to test students in grades 3 through 8 and 11 in math and reading, in grades 5, 8 and 11 in writing, and in grades 4, 8 and 11 in science. The results for reading, writing, science and math are displayed on GreatSchools profiles. The PSSA is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Pennsylvania. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the test.
