Wilson Christian Academy has provided a high quality, authenticly Christian education for my three children since Pre-School. I have been very happy with the challenging academics but the real strength of the school is its teachers. The teachers are dedicated and qualified. Another aspect of the school I really appreciate is how much my children have learned aout the Bible in Bible class and Chapel. Some critics of Christian schools say that "the kids are in a bubble" or that "it doesn't prepare them for the real world". I couldn't disagree more. The students are equipped to live in the real world by developing a Christian world-view and learning to make good decisions. Another aspect that I really appreciate is that my children have developed friends in elementary school and kept them into Middle and High School. No school is perfect but I highly recommend WCA

I attended the elementary at WCA from first through fifth, and I must say that my feelings toward the experience are mixed. On one hand, the education I received allowed me to blossom educationally. By the time I transferred to public school in sixth grade, I scored higher on the entrance test to the high-level eighth grade algebra course than the eighth graders did. On the other hand though, the school was fairly suffocating culturally. Christian music and readings were all that were really advocated, and while I understand that it is a Christian school, it really limited the real world experience that the students had. Also, one of the factors that led to me to transfer from WCA was that the high school, at the time of my attendance, did not have a prom, though the students wanted one.

My children have attended Wilson for several years. I have experienced the elementary, middle school and high school. I love they way my children are challenged academically and spiritually. The loving, safe, positive environment reinforced the Biblical teachings and Christian curriculum. After checking into many other options, I would not trade this incredible school for anything.

Wilson has been the best experience for my children. They offer so much more than most surrounding schools. I also appreciate that the school goes from pre-school to 12th grade. I am able to have all my children in one school and it is very convenient. I love that my children have to work hard, but are able to get lots of help from their teachers. The Christian atmosphere is wonderful and the Bible classes teach so much. I know my children are being prepared to really succeed in college and in life.

When I attended Wilson Christian for a short period of time, I noticed that students did not showcase their good Christian teachings. The 'Bible class' was overcrowded with at least 30 students to one teacher. The students toward the back, where I sat, talked with each other using harsh profanties. Students also answered the teacher's questions without raising their hands. Overall, the Bible class was very disorganized and uncontrolled. The whole feel of the school was rather laid back. This was something I did not expect from a Christian school. On the postive note, the staff was very kind and helpful. They seemed to really care about their school. Oddly enough, the staff tended to overlook certain problem students that caused distruption within the classes.

I have two children both beginning their second year at Wilson. Private school has allowed my daughter to blossom. Unlike the public school that handed out good grades to a child who had no clue what was going on, the Christian schools she has attended hand out those grades to her BECAUSE SHE DESERVES THEM! My 8-year-old son had the advantage of the biblical-based private schools from the beginning. Unlike his sister, he is very outgoing and energetic. Private school has helped to channel those qualities into acceptable and admirable behaviors. Like his sister, he also consistently brings home grades that earn them the honor of being on Honor and High-Honor Roll. The downside to private school is that many extracurricular clubs and activities are limited or not available. Also, friends the children make at school are not readily available for after-school and weekend fun. It also goes without saying that private schools don't come cheap; however, I know in my heart that the sacrifice will be well worth it when my children grow into intelligent, responsible, godly adults.
