Cochran Elementary is a great school. We recently moved away from Williamsport and are going to miss all of the teachers and staff so much! Both of our daughters needed help with speech and reading and received the best support I've ever seen. I can only pray that our new school is half as good as Cochran was to our family!

I am a grandmother whose grandchild's final grade was rated "below basic" in the 1st quarter. My grandchild is very smart and comprehends very well. I don't think her teacher would've asked her to tutor a classmate if she wasn't academically capable. The parents of the child was appauld and offended when the teacher couldn't establish proof any classwork or homework assignments below the score of 80. Just a note to the parents.....collect all of your childs assignments and oppose what is wrong....your child's grades MATTERS.

I must say I'm very disappointed. My daughter is in 2nd grade now. She has had some difficulty with reading since Kindergarten. Then I was told that it wasn't a big deal and that if her troubles continued she should be tested in 1st grade. Well in 1st grade and now in 2nd I've been given the brush off . I've talked to my daughters teachers, the school counselor and I met with the IST team twice and they, I quote, 'are not at all concerned with her being half a year behind.' Now, once again, I'm being told that if her troubles in reading continue she'll be tested in 3rd grade. I just don't understand why I'm having to fight so hard to get this school to teach my daughter in an effective way.

We are really happy! The teachers are great! I love that the school is always open to the parents to come and visit.

My second child just started at Cochran. We couldn't be happier there. The teachers are great, the principals are outstanding! Parent involvement is highly encouraged.
