This school has no idea how to help special education needs. My child ended up depressed and terrified to go to school. They did not follow through on the resources he needed and the staff is not trained how to help kids with special needs. The administration for the district just wants the problems and issues to be out of their buildings and to ship them somewhere else. The communication is horrible between staff and the years in CVE were the worst years of my child's life.

My two boys have loved this school! They have programs that have helped wonderfully. My boys have had both reading and speech therapy. I also haven't encountered any stigmas with them having extra reading help, either. This school has been one of the best reasons to live in this area.

Teachers that are good are great and the resources are par. There are, however, teachers so bad that your child's year will be lost.

Great school with numerous activities for the children. My daughter was thrilled with illustrator Scott Nash's visit. She is now writing and reading with great interest in books. The teachers are top notch.

Our children have had the pleasure of attending CVE for the past four years. We were a bit skeptical of a public school since our children attended a private school in VA. We couldn't be happier with CVE! This school has the feeling of a top notch private school. The teachers are fabulous, and our children can't wait for school to start again in the fall. Parental involvement is encouraged and appreciated. The teachers really go the extra mile for their students, even to the extent of offering weekend activities on their own time. Our family will be moving back to VA in the fall, and the one thing we will miss most is CVE. If we find a school half as good as CVE, we will be pleased.

This elementary school still retains the close and friendly atmosphere of a neighborhood school in a rapidly growing school district. The staff is extremely caring and creative, in addition to be extremely effective in their instruction. The art and music programs are top-notch and wonderful art shows and musicals are enjoyed by the community each year.
