I have a nephew who lives with me he will not eat his dinner he wastes more food but we offer food to him and he wont eat then 5 mins later he yells eat how can I get him to stop wasting food and eat and not ask every 5 mins
He may not feel like part of the family. He's not comfortable eating around everyone else. I think if you leave him a plate in the refrigerator and tell him when he's ready to eat he can. If he is younger than 6, write a schedule to tell him when dinner is and what the menu will be. Keep veggies or fruits handy that way if he doesn't want dinner he won't go hungry. He'll come around.19716
yeah try it, like I said at first it is gonna be hard because you will feel bad because he will say that he is starving,:) at least thats what my kid says. remind him that it is his choice if he wants to eat or not but his is not eating after the kitchen is closed. you know like at a resturant. the closed sign means closed! Good luck, I have one kid who loves to eat and I have to remind him not to over eat and the other who rarely wants to eat!19719

Prepare your dinner as usual, if he chooses not to eat at the time you call for everyone to sit and eat then just leave the plate on the table. Let everyone start to eat and let your nephew know that once the kitchen is cleaned then it is closed so if he dosne't eat within the time you serve to the time you start and finish cleaning your kitchen then he will have to wait until breakfast to eat. Believe me this is hard to do but this will give him a routine that he will later appreciate and hopefully help you follow a good meal plan with him. I have a very picky 4yr old so when I would make our dinner he would say he wasn't hungy but at 10:00 at night he was hungry his stomach was growling and he would want to eat, so there I go warming up the left overs or he wold just ask for soup or sandwich well I had to let him know that dinner was served and he chose not to eat so he had to wait till the next day. He cried and was very stubborn about it but eventually he learned that I wasn't messing around. He now eats with us and sometimes he'll even ask for seconds. Try it see if this works for you, but remember it's not easy when you have to say no you should have eaten at dinner time, but it makes them think about the choice they made not eat earlier.19721
