Maybe somebody can give my husband and I some advice. Our son just turned 4 and is potty trained as far as pee goes, but does not want to poop on the potty at all. Any suggestions? Thank you.

I don't force it, because they will regress.

All children are different. Both of my girls all of my 5 grandchildren and both great grandchildren were completely day trained by 16 months.

What is the age of the child? Children under the age of 22 months do not have the physical capabilities to control their bodily functions.

just let him be. It is a nature thing. Why push when he will get there when he is ready...emotionally and physically/

I used stickers, one for every time she used the potty. Just one, and just if she really did something. It worked very well

The thing that worked and kept him dry was a photo. I put a photo of his sister up in the bathroom with a paper crown on her and it said potty royalty over it. His photo was next to it, once he stayed dry and went #2 in the potty he'd get his crown

We tried offering a mini marshmallow every time he went with the promise of a Wall-e computer toy once he was dry for a certain number of days... Well that worked to an extent then once he got the toy, he went back to being wet again.

My daughter was pretty reluctant at first. But she was also really into princesses. So I bought her some princess underwear and told her she could wear them once she started trying. It was one of several tactics that worked.
