What do you do when your child is reluctant to potty train?

We tried offering a mini marshmallow every time he went with the promise of a Wall-e computer toy once he was dry for a certain number of days... Well that worked to an extent then once he got the toy, he went back to being wet again.

My daughter was pretty reluctant at first. But she was also really into princesses. So I bought her some princess underwear and told her she could wear them once she started trying. It was one of several tactics that worked.

There are quite a few picture books on potty training that can help. Once Upon a Potty has boy and girl versions.

Don't pressure them too much or it might backfire. Or you could always try to bribe them! That's what finally worked for us. LOL!
