hello, we are going to move to Dallas from Madrid, Spain (sorry for my mistakes) and I don´t really know how it works the american education for selecting schools, neighborhood and this kind of things. I have a 3 years old girl and twins with 7 months. Can somebody help me and give me some recommendations about places to live, schools, around dallas, the company is located in Addison... Thanks for your help.
In the US, schools are typically zoned for neighborhoods. You move into an area, and that area will be zoned for a certain school.
If you are moving for a job, I'd suggest asking to speak to the Human Resources person at the company and see if they can pair you with a few families with kids of a similar age. Find out about commute times, schools and other amenities.
In addition, find a real estate professional who is very comfortable with the area, and ask for advice. You don't have to be buying a home--you can be renting and real estate folks will be happy to help you find a great area for your family.
