Pls suggest

Hi, V r soon moving to richardson, texas from india. My son is 4.5 yrs old now & in nursery class here. I'm bit confused abt his school preference in texas. Anyone pls guide me that can he get into a kindergarten in mid session there? Or what is best for him?

The school year runs from August to June. It might be difficult to get into a pre-K mid-year because they are very popular and the demand exceeds the space available. Contact schools that interest you as soon as you can to find out how likely a public pre-K is. You might be looking at private schools.
I've heard of day schools and boarding schools, but not day boardings. Contact the schools for more information.

Thanks a ton dear. So, if v go for a pre-K by mid of nov this yr then can he get into it easily, as he will b 3 months late admission? And normally what r the school timings? Any day boarding also there?

Hi monicasinghal,
He will need to be five years old by a specific date to qualify for kindergarten, which I believe is September 1. You'll be looking for pre-kindergarten programs, which are very popular. Finding one mid year might be a challenge, but it doesn't mean it can't happen.
Start here: http://www.greatschools.org/find-schools/ and type in the zip code. You'll need to narrow your search down to elementaries with pre-K, and then contact them directly.
