my daughter hasnt been to school yet.shell be turning 5 this year.. they say for public school i have to enroll her in westside elementary. thats a bad school.. y cant i send her to public school of chose

You could always request for a permit for her to attend a different school. That's what we ended up doing and I know a lot of parents requested for permit due to babysitter, jobs, etc. Try and you might be able to do the same.

Hi candacemoore, and welcome to the GreatSchools Parent Community.

School districts have the option to have firm boundaries or allow for a variety of open enrollment options.

Your district might actually have some options, but there also are deadlines with those options, not all school grades are included, and some can require special testing.

You'll want to check out your district's website and see if they have an absolute ban on school choice, or simply some limitations.
