Why I want Mitt Romney to be my child's president
A Romney campaign staffer - and dad - explains why he believes Romney will create the brightest future for his child.

When my wife and I welcomed our second little girl into the world a few months ago, we were reminded again of the promise that a new life brings to a family. Our family celebrated our newest addition with the same dreams that all parents have: that we will hand our children a brighter future and a better life than our own.
Today I fear that future is at risk. There’s a lot to worry about when caring for two little ones, like remembering booster shots, saving for college, bandaging scraped knees and occasionally negotiating whether to finish the vegetables on our dinner plates. Now it seems those tiny worries are complicated by much bigger concerns. What if my wife or I lost a job? What if my daughters’ schools don’t prepare them for the future? Are we handing our children a world that is less prosperous than the one we were given?
Students, not unions
I’m voting for Mitt Romney in November because I still believe that we can fix the problems behind those questions. I’m ready for a President who understands the economy and has a plan to get our country growing again. I’m ready for a President who will put students – my little girls, not unions – first when it comes to improving our schools. And I’m ready for a President who will tell America the hard truths necessary to fix our debt and spending problems – for my daughters’ sake.
Governor Romney has solved big problems before. He worked with Democrats in Massachusetts to create a full scholarship for every high-achieving student in the state. When he was governor, Massachusetts was number one in the nation in student test scores. And Governor Romney stood up to the politicians who tried to block charter school growth.
A Chance for Every Child
When I read Governor Romney’s plans for the next four years, A Chance for Every Child, I thought of this as a chance for my child. Every parent should have the opportunity to send their child to the school of their choice. We need a President who will relentlessly pursue better outcomes for children, not payouts for political friends. Governor Romney will be a champion for making college more affordable by embracing public and private sector solutions. In short, Governor Romney’s vision for America is the same as my vision for my family: an exciting future where we believe in ourselves again.
