Letter Collage

How you can help at home: In this activity your child explores letter sounds by making a collage.

Have your child explore letter sounds by making this collage, which you can later review with your child.

What You'll Need

• Magazines, old greeting cards and newspapers that can be cut apart for the collage
• Cardboard
• Scissors
• Glue
• Pencil, crayon or marker

Here's How to Do It

Have your child choose a letter. Review with her the sound it makes, and brainstorm words that start with the letter sound. Have your child write the capital and lowercase letter in the middle of a piece of cardboard. Have her find and cut out pictures that start with the letter sound. Then she can glue the pictures on the cardboard.
