I sleep well knowing my child will never be forced to go to this disgusting school. So grateful I can provide a good education for my child and will never understand how any parent would let their kid attend this dump. From uneducated staff to poorly raised children with little to no education this truly is as low as it gets.

4/10 says it all. Principal is leaving this year (2024) and not sure if this is good or bad. Maybe good because the district sees that a change is needed and replacing or bad where even the principal is removing herself.

Unless you want Missouri social workers at your door on your kids second day there, especially right after you tell them that your child has mental illness and you’re going through motions on getting help with those issues… worst school I’ve ever had to place my children in.. and lunch is almost 4 dollars a meal… crazy!!

My daughter goes to this school and she loves it there. She had transferred from Grange, while she was in Grange her test scores were low and her behavior was disgusting. Since she has come to MGCCA I have noticed a sudden spike in all her tests and her grades have gotten better. She also always comes home talking about how good school was and about how Ms. Lisa is the best Yard duty ever. I would totally recommend this school to parents with children that are struggling academically and socially. This school has changed so much and I love the new her. Thank you MGCCA!

The new headmaster is terrible and inexperienced. The school brags about their funding, but doesn't provide adequate support to those with academic differences, whether that be disabilities OR giftedness. There is literally no library or librarian because they believe that screens and technology should replace books. VMS is riddled with gossip amongst both students and parents and the classes are so small that new children have a difficult time. VMS has no morals/values and doesn’t teach philanthropy, which is disgusting in a place of such wealth. There is shockingly low diversity (online stat was 90% Caucasian). List of college admissions is not at all impressive. The ski program is lacking and those students often fall behind. The staff are there to ski, party, and live the good life, not because they’re passionate about teaching. Staff is pretentious and entitled. There is a SRO but he is nowhere to be found and they’ll buzz anyone in, with or without an appointment. Children sometimes even open the front door to strangers. The school is dirty and not well kept or organized at all. Admissions process is ridiculous and they formally test your children on their shadow days without your notification or permission. The school’s vision is not clear; they do not have purpose and it shows. I have literally not one good thing to say about this place except that it is a massive waste of money. Luckily, there are a lot of amazing schools in and around the valley; look elsewhere.

Great test scores are not everything. It isn’t surprising to have a mostly white school in an affluent area pop high test scores. What this school lacks is warmth and diversity. The school is essentially top down driven but the KEF and PTA. There is an illusion of a parent community, but that is actually very disjointed. The heads of the parent orgs dictate out the weekly communication to a class parent to send out. I haven’t found there to be a super connected parent community- just your normal handful. What is more concerning is the incidents of racism that took place over the last school year. It is truly disappointing to hear that students are making verbal racism comments to other students and staff members. Further concerning is that we learned about these issues not in the moment but after a string of issues. Some teachers are great, but like teachers in any school, they are tired and over worked. We have benefited from the additional educational resources that the KEF funds, which support higher test scores I’m sure. My child loves those additional programs. Overall you’d be hard pressed to get a poor education here. But you won’t find diversity or warmth. Don’t be fooled by all of the “ally” claims, there are obvious issues. Everything seems to be communicated last minute. The new principal has yet to get her bearings.

I graduated from Hale last year. I was in the STEAM program. Because of this, pretty much all of my classmates cared about school. Fighting- Bad: 6th grade was weird because of hybrid, but both 7th and 8th grade had a roughly 1 month period where there would be a fight in the cafeteria at least once per week. It seemed like between 1/3 and 1/2 of the school would go swarm around the fight trying to see/record either it or the swarm itself. Lunch would then end early because that was the most effective way to get kids to leave so staff could actually get to the center. Teachers- Mostly Good: Most of the teachers (at least in the steam program) were very good. There was only 1 teacher that I didn't like. This was mainly because someone was basically bullying me in that class, and I told her twice, but she didn't do anything about it. I hated that teacher, but I was confident that any of my other teachers would have helped stop it if it. At the time I didn't realize it was bullying, but there were several adults that would have stepped in if I told them about it. My counselor in 8th grade was Ms. Hopkins, who was really good. For most of the second semester of 8th grade I would talk to her at least once per week. She and the other counselors at Hale are nice, and considerate. - Especially if you take the time to actually talk to them outside of when the counselors visit everyone's classes. Clubs and Acceptance- Good: There are a lot of clubs, and the general school population is accepting of a variety of people. I was in GSA (hosted by Mr. Farsakian). I don't know if it is still this way, but when I was there it was not a structured thing, instead just being a place for queer students to come at lunch to hang out and meet each other. I have a lot of good memories from GSA and other clubs, and I met a lot of friends, many of which I still hang out with now. Electives- Good: I had the same elective teacher in 7th and 8th (Ms. Dehbashi) because I really liked her. I did game design, then robotics. If you know what you are doing, she gives you more freedom, but if you don't get it she will help you. She has been one of my favorite teachers I have ever had, and the robots we made first semester of 8th grade was the most fun I have Ever had on a school project. Overall, I liked Hale. More specific people than the campus itself, but I had a good experience at Hale, and almost all of my friends had a good or at least neutral experience too.

We have been in BCS the past three years and have enjoyed the great teachers & community. Our daughter was bullied a few times and once we brought it up to her teacher she talked to both of them and taught them very good lessons and we were very pleased with the outcome.

Thought it was a great school at first, that’s until your child gives any issues or isn’t easy. They don’t handle ADHD kids very well. Expect too much out of TK aged kids. The principal is atrocious, as soon as a child isn’t easy that’s it! I wouldn’t recommend this school for any child that doesn’t fit into their “perfect mold” the teacher was ok most of the year, now I’m not so sure.

If you’re thinking about enrolling your kids to this school PLEASE DONT!! This is the first and last year my kids will attend this school. There’s no communication from the school what so ever!! The teachers are ALWAYS absent, they don’t communicate with the apps they recommend to use or send any kind of papers with information we need to know. For being an elementary school they don’t have much fun either, they don’t take them outside for recess at all maybe twice a week and if you have small children in kinder 3rd 4th 5th grade like I do you know they have a lot of energy and need it, yes learning is important but they are small children that also need to run around. All I had with this school is bad experiences!! My kids also deals with bullying everyday and it’s brought up to them plenty of times and do the teachers do anything about it NO it’s gotten to bad that they don’t want to go to school every because they know they will get hit by their classmates!! Safety after school is also out the window. My son stayed after school for one of their after school activities and pick up time has always been 4:30pm but there’s sometimes they decide to let them out 10 minutes early and they kick them out the premises even if the parent isn’t there AND there’s times I pull up right at 4:30 and there’s not even teachers there watching the kids being picked up THATS SUPER DANGEROUS FOR A SMALL CHILD!! Anyone can just take them. School lunches are also cold and by that I mean there’s time they get hamburgers still frozen and if they speak up about it they just tell them to suck it up, my kids come home starving ( that’s why they take lunches now) The whole staff at this school is just mean to all the kids. My oldest in 5th grade hears and seen when teacher yells at other students including the principal and this isn’t just my son seeing this it also other students. My kids use to love school before coming here now they never want to go to school and I worry about their mental health. I’ve talked to many other parents that feel the exact same way.

Rockland Elementary is about 10-15 years behind in its teaching methods. Not only that, but staff are untrained on the most current and appropriate methods for supporting students with special needs. Do yourself a favor and look at any other D70 school, and if you’re really smart, get out of Libertyville. This town struggles to move beyond small town politics and social cliques that are obsessed with popularity. It’s like a bad 90s movie on repeat that no one wants to move on from. If you must stay in Libertyville, enroll your child in Oak Grove and stay away from D70.

I LOVE Lightridge High School. It's where I met my most favorite people in the whole world. However, they could do work in reducing discrimination, as there is some levels of discrimination that just make me, and others, uncomfortable. However, the bullying situation is ok. There is teasing from time to time, but I haven't seen extensive levels of bullying. I'm a senior right now, but I don't want to graduate because the school is soooo good lol. It's super fun, engaging, and interactive compared to most schools in America and the building is super amazing. The Color Guard/Marching Band (called Marching Storm) are pretty amazing, and they are pretty talented in creating epic performances. The bell schedule here is also pretty neat, and main attendance office person is pretty nice as well. I also chose my major (Economics B.A.) after attending Lightridge High School because of Mr. Rutan :) ). It's a pretty safe environment, and the open spaces, combined with ingenious ideas to put the windows, creates a well-natural lit atmosphere that's inviting and comfortable. It's nice to work almost anywhere in the building, as there are lots of places to work and collaborate. My favorite place by far to work is in the library, and teachers will often let us work in the library. Also sometimes, we can go away from the cafeteria to the library to eat lunch there. The library has HUGE GLASSS WINDOWS that give us a TON of natural light, creating an AMAZING atmosphere. There are also TWO LARGE POWERPOINTS where we can present information, as well as many seating options and facilities that provide an EXCELLENT opportunity for us to work in. There is also the Lightridge Locker and the Lightridge Lounge, two areas where you can buy Lightridge merchandise and snakes. I never tried it tho. Maybe I should go there one day.... Anyways, I hope you found this review (first!!!!) of Lightridge High School helpful, and I can't wait to see where life takes me. I'm actually optimistic about the future because of Lightridge High School (unlike Willard Middle) and I really hope you find amazing people and a nice community at Lightridge!!!! Hope you are moved and optimistic about the future after attending Lightridge!!!! Cya, and have a great day!!!!
