My daughter was in Paine School for one year, she was in 2nd grade. She had a terrrible year. Her techer was lazy and incompetent. Her idea of teaching was to have the kids work on dittos all day. She did not event ake the time to correct these dittos correctly. She would would return the dittos to the kids with correct answers marke wrong. She yelled at the children daily. She was late most every day.
Captain Isaac Paine School is a public school with all of the good features of a private school.
Captain Isaac Paine Elementary School is near as good as it gets. The atmosphere is very nurturing and light, created by a wonderful staff of teachers , administrators and assistants. The learning is innovative and growth challenging promoting enjoyable experiences in developmental self-esteem. Activities are focused on community compatibility and reinforced by allowing the children to express that focus by way of participation. My grandson is an ongoing personal testimony to validate my opinion. Thank You and continued Success and Good Luck to everyone involved at Isaac Paine. Sincerely Anthony L. Gaudiana
The Paine Elementary school is blessed with the advantage of being the only public school in operation in small, the rural town of Foster, RI. This allows teachers to have a big voice falling upon parents' big ears. This is supported by a strong, Parent-Teacher Organization (Group). Additionally, this group has a considerably loud voice, and can wield some pretty impressive political and fund-raising power. There seems to be a power vacuum however, even better described as a power 'struggle' between factions of the town's school committee and others (including parents). Too soon to comment on the new Principal, but more to follow at a later date. Not much to look forward to at the regional level, but perhaps things will get better. If not, dump the house and move on!
