Jamestown School-Lawn

Jamestown School-Lawn is a great place to attend. Jamestown's a nice small town on an island where everybody knows each other. Our school has dedicated teachers and kind students. It's also a very safe environment. The school also welcomes new kids with open arms, especially military kids (sons and daughters of U.S. soldiers). This middle school has boys soccer, girls soccer, cross country running, boys basketball, girls basketball, track & field, as well as baseball. Once a year, people from the local community come to the school to introduce their jobs to students. Called Island Treasures Day, this annual event involves hands-on activities for the school's kids. This year's activities involve the fire and rescue department showing their stuff, baking pizzas with House of Pizza, trawling for fish in the bay, and designing your dream home with an architect. There's also a great music program at the school, afterschool activities, and a foreign language program. Jamestown, RI is a great place to live with strong schools.

Great teachers, grandchildren love going to school there, learning and enjoying it!

Our move to Rhode Island for the year was made easier by Lawn's incredible staff and students. The traditional course instruction was great. But it was the classroom projects/exploration, music and foreign language programs, field trips, and after school activities that really put this school over the top for us. We wish we were staying in Jamestown longer.

Extremely safe environment, parents are involved, excellent music department, and wonderful place to raise children. Sports is limited.
