We love Coggeshall! Ignore the rankings and scores.....this is a wonderful elementary school! The principal is amazing -- very involved in daily school activities and takes a personal interest in each and every child -- from leading the kids in songs during lunch to outside on the playground during recess to publicly acknowledging each child's birthday. The faculty and staff reflect the principal's leadership. We moved to Newport mid-year, and by the end of our son's first day of school, all of the faculty and staff, from the teachers to the lunchroom staff to the custodian, were greeting him by name. Between the PTO and the Family Services Coordinator, the school offers an amazing number of afterschool activities and special events for the whole family. It is truly a community school with a warm and friendly atmosphere (and a beautiful historic building!) that makes kids feel safe and loved and encourages a love of learning.
