Overall i think that PAIS needs improvements in many areas to grow in a proper manner academically and in quality. As a student i feel that the school did not offer me the necessary preparation to be ready for college. I was a straight A's student while all four years there but i thought that the work was too easy. Therefore they need to forget about the no child left behind quote and challenge student to be better not be just another person that wants to finish high school without learning anything. The areas that need improvements are Math which is the most important one in everyday life and in college if you want to be a engineer or simply a math teacher. Student need to get better at Mathematics, but professor should implement a tougher way of teaching. and writing.

The numbers do not reflect the consistent growth of the school. My son attended and loved it and has now gone onto Johnson and Wales. This is one of the better high schools in Providence.

My daughter entered PAIS in the middle of a school yr. and adjusted very well. She now enjoys the school experience along with the learning. Thank you for helping keep her in school. On my visits there I found the staff most helpful and the counseling personal encouraging. The facilities are new and kept very clean.. and the AC doesn't hurt in the summer school program. Again, 2 thumbs up for this school

In 2013-2014 Rhode Island used the New England Common Assessment Program (NECAP) to test students in grades 3 through 8 and 11 in reading and math, in grades 5, 8 and 11 in writing, and in grades 4, 8 and 11 in science. GreatSchools ratings currently reflect 2013 test data; the ratings will be updated when the latest NECAP science data is made public and available in the summer of 2014. The NECAP is a standards-based test, which means it measures specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Rhode Island. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level.
