This is a fantastic school. The teachers care about their students and make an effort to help them individually. They want their students to succeed. They push them, and give them an actual education. They're not there just because it's a job, they truly care about the community and their students. They need a new principal however. It seems like no one has been able to fill Boule's shoes.
The school screws over its students. The GPAS are terrible and honors students do not get the credit they deserve. Many teachers are great. However few truly care about the students. I wish I had gone to a different high school because academically EWG is not fair.
Our child had a great experience at EWGSHS! His curriculum was challanging but acceptable and helped to prepare him for life after high school. The focus of his entire attendance at this school was on his ability to be prepared for college and the workplace, and we supported that curriculum. Communication was great between parents and staff and the extra curricular activities at the school were fantastic. I would definately recommend this school!
This school has a very good principal. She promotes positive parent/school relationships. She is bright, honest, and student-centered in her appoach. She has her hands full with a faculty consisting of some teachers who appear inflexible, burned out, or ill prepared. Many on the staff do a poor job at recognizing different learning styles and thus are unable to fairly and skillfully encourage all students to do their best. However, there are a number of superb teachers who understand diverse learners and effectively teach them. The school should look to these teachers to improve the quality of academic programs. Even the best programs won't work if you don't have effective teachers. The arts program is good but underfunded. The school as a whole does not recognize the true unsung heros among their students. Even our best performing students have difficulty getting into top notch colleges.
