I have my daughter at this school and i want to switch her out and consider it. The education system is outdated, teachers have the attitude as if they couldnt care less if the students were listening the barely teach and give out confusing packets. There are few teachers that do extremely well with what they do. My child was fortunate to have a few the past two years but teachers nred to have a repory card them selves where the students decide there grade. Maybe then these teachers will realise oh i actually have to work and help these children suceed because that is what a real teacher does.

I specifically took my daughter OUT of this school and moved to another town because the programs here are substandard and the staff literally are of the mindset of an us vs. them attitude with the parents. I feel they need to have more integrity and need to learn the meaning of the term "special needs". They are in the dark. So tragically in the darki.

This high school needs an extreme overhaul cosmetically and academically. Many teachers need their own education updated... time for this school to move into the 21st century. I can't understand how my daughter got so lucky in getting the few teachers who actually enjoy teaching. Need to improve the administration and teachers' poor attitudes. Teachers are giving up on the lower end students. When it comes time for parent teacher conferences the entire school might have 30 parents show up.

Some of the teachers need to be updated- teach them how to teach or fire them. Techniques are SO outdated. Let's get in some new blood. Out with the old in with the new.

I know nothing of the educational status of West Warwick High School. However, I will say that this afternoon, I attended the Drama Club's performance of Aida. It was wonderful. This school has an outstanding drama department and these kids are not only extremely talented, they are completely invested in what they are doing. Kudos to these talented adolescents. There is so much negativity around today about kids today. These kids blew that assumption out of the water.

I dont think West Warwick High School has good teaching techniques nor employees. My kids know more about their teachers' life, than they do about Algebra 2.

West Warwick High School has a great administration, teachers, and students. We have one of the best bands in Rhode Island and came in first place three years ago at a national jazz competition held at Berklee College and last year came in fourth. We plan on winning again this year!

What isn't there to brag about WWHS? The students excel at everything they do. They kick reason to the curb and go beyond the impossible! Everyday, all the day. The teachers are very involved in helping students do the best they can and help them achieve the impossible! The extra-curricular activities shine just as well! Everyone, kicking reason to the curb everyday to go beyond the impossible and achieve what they need! What more is there to say?

The education that my children received at West Warwick High School enabled them to get into two of the best schools around. One went to Worcester Polytechnic Institute and is currently working toward his masters and Phd in electrical and computer engineering. The other Went To Clark University and is currently a preschool teacher. Also some of the extra currucular activities such as band allowed my children to learn other types of skills like teamwork and getting along with others as well as develop their musical talent.

West Warwick High School has the most outstanding and talented Music Department. It is compromised of caring and dedicated students and faculty who put in many long hours of practice to make every performance they take part in successful. These individuals take pride in what they do and in their school. This fact has been proven both by the band and chorus students as they have been asked to participate in many contests throughout the county as well as community events. They have received many honors and awards for their excelence in music. I take great pride in being the parent of a student involved in the Art of Music at West Warwick High School and support these wonderful individuals who take time outside of their school days to make the community of West Warwick proud of them.

My high school is a great school. All teachers are very dedicated to having each student strive to be their best. The music department is always phenomenal and we continue to do better every year. Our sports program is also great and the coaches are amazing. Whenever help is needed in a subject, it is easy to get a hold of teachers after/before school or via school e-mail. Administration does a great job keeping order. It's a great environment for learning and teachers are approachable and easy to talk to. The honors program is fun and provides a great learning experience, while also difficult. The school always has some activity going on such as movie night, dances, sports, language clubs, National Honor Society, social committee, newspaper, yearbook, ramp-up, band/chorus concerts, etc. It's a mini-community, our school, and we like it that way. It's a place where everyone knows pretty much everyone and many people watch out for each other. The academic courses can be challenging, but teachers are always available if help is needed. There's student paintings in the art hallway. School drama performances are always worth seeing as students and directors are devoted to creating something worth talking about. This school is filled with so much talent in every area and teachers and administration highlight all talents the best they can. Overall, I love my high school. 'Once a Wizard, Always a Wizard'

West Warwick HS has one of the best music departments in the state. Some of the hardest working people. And each year they win accolades of awards at all their music festivals. This means a lot of hard work

I love West Warwick High School because it offers many positive opportunities for the students, many activities after school and chances for students to get together and socialize. A variety of curriculum choices (beyond academics)leaves our students with a well rounded, versatile education. The Music Department is especially active, engaging hundreds of students daily, culminating in many concerts throughout the year. A support system of faculty, staff and parents is second to none.

I have had the privelege or having 3 boys graduate from West Warwick High. My daughter is now a freshman there. I can not say enough good things about the staff and teachers at the incredible school. One of my boys had an IEP, the staff and teachers were so helpful and took the extra time that he needed. I have nothing but praise for this school.

I have had three kids through West Warwick High and we were never happy with the quality of the education offered there. Unless one is sports oriented, a child is not ever centered upon, not given interest when they encounter problems. The teachers are indifferent, and bothered should they be asked to do anyhthing that would keep them past 2:30 pm. This school is lackluster at best!

I am a Parent who has 2 children one of which attends West Warwick High School. One who needed to attend another school due to her own safety and education. The high School is better than the Junior high but it does have its problems. Negative administration.

My son graduated from West Warwick HS in the late 90's and had a wonderful experience there. I always felt that the teachers, counselors, and administrators really liked the kids and went out of their way to help, challenge, and meet the needs of all kids. Since this is a HUGE sports town, there was no shortage of sports to choose from. They have a national award-winning music program thanks to the new high school band director. My son went on to college and felt he was well-prepared for that challenge. More parents should be involved since it seemed to me that you saw the same parents doing everything all of the time. Overall, it's a great place to go to school.

I am not a parent, but i am a student who moved from cumberland to west warwick in 2001-2002 and would like to tell all of the parents that i loved this school. I have been to many different schools and west warwick high school is my favorite. The students and the teachers are very friendly. The lunches are great and very nutritional. I miss the nachos. I wish i could have stayed in this school for the remaining time but the three years there will have to do. I miss you West Warwick.

I am also not a parent but a student at this school. I am currently in 12th grade and I doubt that I stand alone when saying that I feel as though I have been cheated out of a high school education. I am an A/B student, at the top of the class but I feel as though about three teachers at this school care and the rest are just there because it is an easy job. I dont feel prepared for anything such as the SATs or college. I am embarassed to recieve a deploma that says West Warwick High School on it. Unfortuantely, I have no choice at this point. Teachers hate their jobs, kids are incredibly immature, parents don't care AT ALL and the safety is seriously questionable. Please, do your children a favor and send them elsewhere.
