This is an awful school. Teachers and administration could not care less about their students. They would rather humiliate their students than help them learn. It's very sad how much students rely on their high school education to prepare them for the rest of their lives. Even the extracurricular and elective teachers show a lack of support for their students. I have had such teachers tell outright lies to myself and others in my time there. No amount of renovating can change the poor quality of this school, the staff, and the administration.
This is an amazing school i am a freshman there this year and i am very suprised at how helpfull and understanding all the teachers are. They really respect their students as people but have extremly high standards throughout the 4 year process until graduation i am truly greatful to be able to go to such an amazing school.
I've had a wonderful 4 years at Chariho High School. Considering the many budget issues at hand and the struggling finances of many area families, the school does a wonderful job of providing a learning community. Teachers truly care, and there seems to be an overall bond between students. Sports programs, although sometimes lacking in the 'winning' department, have been an integral part of my HS experience. I got into an Ivy League after spending all of my schooling years in the Chariho School District. It can be done if all is taken advantage of; I love and truly recommend this school.
If you walked the halls of Chariho High School as recently as 2000, you haven't seen Chariho High School! The changes in administration, staff & curriculum together with structural changes in the physical building (new science wing, art center and physical fitness center) have come together to make Chariho a leader in education in New England and beyond. CHS is, as are all schools in the Chariho Regional School District, classified as HIGH PERFORMING as defined by the RI Department of Education. The staff has a genuine interest in the success of the students. CHS carries a wide variety of extra-curricular activities for just about every interest. Visit CHS at www.chariho.k12.ri.us
