It was a wonderful school for both of my children.

My son attended 2nd grade to 5th grade in this school. He loved it, and he made very good friends, as it is a friendly environment for every kid. Many kids from this school attend Gifted and Talented program one day a week. Teachers take care of the lessons missed, and provide the students with material for the missed classes.

I have been associated with Dominion Trail since 2004 when my son entered the 1st grade. Currently I have a 5th grader and a 1st grader enrolled. Overall we have been very pleased with the school. My children are thriving, happy and safe in this school environment. DTES has a very tight knit and community oriented group of parents, teachers and staff who jump in to help and support each other. It has been a great elementary school experience for my children and I. There have been ups and downs here and there, but overall I would highly recommend this school to anyone.

We moved to Loudoun County because of the schools and are very happy we did. My son started kindergarten there, we could not have been more happy with the teacher and how much he learned that first year. He is now in first grade and again, we are very happy. Those parents that gave this school a so so review are just a few, the majority of the parents are extremely happy. If your not happy with your school, get involved and make a change. The only thing that I see that needs to be done is not with the school, it's with the parents who don't get their children to school on time.

If you truly mean a shy kid who wants to be outgoing, then I would help them interact with one child at a time. If you are talking about an introverted child, refer to http://www.carlkingdom.com/10-myths-about-introverts

Find something you are good at or enjoy doing a lot, just one thing. You'll gain confidence and meet other kids that enjoy that activity too. Mine was singing in choir. I wasn't good at anything else but that built my confidence for other things... More »
