The Administration is like a fungus at this school. A reflection of their negative leadership has spread to the staff, parents, students and community members. This school may not be around next year at the rate the principal is running the staff and parents away. Fire the disrespectful and ineffective principal and vice principal Gretchen Thornton has had 8 years to produce better than what we see at College Park Elementary today. Hire a principal that mirrors the likes of Marva Collins, Geoffrey Canada, and Ron Clark this school is a gold mine waiting to be discovered by an administration with passion and heart that is willing to build with a vision for our kids future.

College Park has the potential to be a great school. However, the current administration needs to go. The prinicipal is ignorant of current trends in education, and does not communicate with parents effectively. There is no discipline at the school and bullying is a major issue. The teachers are dedicated and committed, but they need more support.

My son is a fourth grade student at College Park Elementary. The teachers there are very passionate and seem to be very knowledgable. I am glad to know that my son will have a chance to participate in extracurricula activites. The only problem is the administrators. I was not informed that my child would be put into a math class based on his ability. I completely disagree with the direction that the school is moving in, in hopes of increasing studenbt achievment.
