Noah Webster Basic School

My child is in first grade at NWBS. New this year. My child attended our neighborhood school at Higley last year and I was so very concerned about safety and lack of discipline and overall competence and organization of the school. I found NWBS and decided to try. Yes, it IS different from public school. Is that not why we seek out alternative schools in the first place? I was very surprised at the lack of parent involvement too. I contacted the teacher, let her know I would like to volunteer in the classroom and go in once a week. They welcome me. There is much to be said for the structure and organization NWBS. I actually like that it is run more like a business. My child is in a safe, competent school. She is learning so much and is extremely happy and so am I.

My son is in Kindergarten this year, and absolutely loves it! I love the fact that he is so happy and is learning SO much! He is reading, writing, spelling and doing math all at a first grade level and is thriving better than I ever could have imagined! He came home the other day and told me that he told his teacher that he loved her! That speaks volumes about how wonderful this school is! I look forward to watching my son learn and evolve even more throughout his school years at Noah Webster. I researched schools for the last 2 years, and I am so happy with my decision to put him in this school. I KNOW he is challenged and learning at a level that he would not be getting at our neighborhood public school, and I'm so grateful to have Noah Webster as an option!

Going to Noah Webster was my biggest mistake! Think twice before taking your child here. My child went to Noah Webster for the last 3 years. Starting at kindergarten. I thought NWBS was the best school. He was on the honor roll. His strongest subjects were math (always got A s), science and social studies! I was always an advocate for their school. Till we ended moving over the summer. My son is now enrolled into a Gilbert District public school. He is behind in his studies. And he has been appointed a reading specialist, and math specialist!! His new school has requested to NWBS, that my son's previous transcripts be faxed to them. NWBS has neglected to provide the information needed for my child s education. I am very disappointed in Noah Webster Basic School. How can a child go from the honor roll student, to needing a reading and math specialist!!?? This has damaged his self-esteem!
