They're very good at communicating with the parents... Teachers seem quite skilled at the functions they perform. The principal knows how to read and understand her students, plus she notifies me whenever an issue arises... My son was a D and F student who didn't value the importance of a good education.. He also ended up on probation for breaking into an individual's home not two weeks after he moved back here from living with his mother in the state of Washington. His grades were subpar there as well. Here he has discipline, but it also takes a good supportive school to help lead him down a better path... I know that he's capable of achieving great things if he just keeps his nose to the grindstone, straightens up, and fly right... This school has been EXCELLENT in supporting this... (Right down to the school nurse calling me letting me know he talked to her for awhile...) Wish every school was like this one.. Still nice to know we, at least, have one school that knows what comes first.. That being the child and a GOOD education.. His grades and attitude have improved immensely from where he was before... I would highly recommend this school to any parent.. They're good!!! :)

I graduated from LaMonte in 2003 and I thought it was the greatest school ever. Of course it had it's problems, but doesn't every school.

We test kids at the end of the year and beginning. Kids that don't keep up during the summer take a giant step backwards. If our kids do complain about homework, we ask them,"Do you want to work for a company, or own the company?"

No. Let the children have a break. Let their minds focus on being children. They'll have plenty of homework when they go back to school. I would not even consider enforceing summer homework for my children. They need stress free playtime.

Yes. Of course summer is for fun however they can take a brake from homework 2 weeks or so, not the whole summer. If you teach a child the importance of learing they will enjoy the homework even in the summer.
