I could echo this posting 100%. This is also the 'word on the street' from the conversation among parents. This principal should have been replaced a long time ago. Most of the good teachers have left the school since this principal arrived, a few old timers are sticking in their for retirement I guess. No one ever looks happy in this school, certainly not when they are dealing with the principal.
This is a terrible school! The principal has no idea what is going in her shcool. The teachers are below average with unorganized and uninviting classrooms. The principal chooses favorites and raves about them even though they are clearly not doing their jobs. The principal is very cold and far removed from the students! Discipline is also out of control!
As I have been dealing with this school since 1998 and have seen principals come and go in the interim, it's looking very bleak and I'm extremely dissatified with the school. With the excpetion of Dara Jones, the principals who have been at Hapeville are either to consumed with meeting test standards or are busy being political to actually make sure the children are being properly educated. There is a good racial mix, but that's indicative of the city's makeup. From the school lunch program to uniform policies, this school is suspect and one should consider other options before enrolling. I'm still dealing with the mess they made of my 14 yr. old son, he was basically being socially promoted and graduated lacking some very basic skills he should have gotten at this level.
