The GT program is off the charts! All the teachers are caring and broadly educated individuals. There is a strong emphasis on discipline which is critical for children of this age. The new principal is always available and is seen at every juncture. The PTO is run by a small handful of parents, and teacher. It would be nice to see more of both ready to give of their time.
Having the opportunity to visit many local schools, I have to say JLMS has the most well behaved students of them. This stands in stark contrast to the perceptions of people who have never set foot in the school. Curiously, most of the off-the-chart gifted students in the district have matriculated through this campus. It has a strong principal who is not afraid to have strong assistants, and they all treat the students with respect.
This is a very great school. I have been to it since the 6th all the way to 8th and all of my teachers and friends have treated me with wonderful respect.
