My daughter has been in Buna School District since beginning Pre-K. I always knew the school was exceptional, but when she was injured in a serious accident last summer the school came to her aide. They have reached out to TEA to provide every educational tool available to help. I am also touched by the personal connections they make with each student. After bringing five children thru 5 school districts throughout the country, I can say that moving to this district was the best thing I ever did. MSC

My oldest son goes to Buna school, and has since Kindergarten. I feel like the school really tries to work with you, based on your child's individual needs. They do not group all kid's into the same category. If they do not have a program to help your child, they will create one.

The problem with the Jr. High is that the teachers are afraid of the students. They will pass them with F's into the high school. My daughter by rights should of repeated the 8th grade. She never went to summer school to make the F's that she had in English and Math. She was rated at 4th and 5th grade levels yet the passed her. I fought it but when you deal with politics and a scared staff of the students your child looses. I want my children to have a good education but the Buna Jr. High does not. So, if you choose Buna Schools for your child be ready to see your child pass without really trying.

Our six-grader Daughter, enjoys the freedom of choice. We allow her to pick and choose as she makes good choices, she has demonstrated responsibility in her decisions. Making (Pizza) & Tomatoes) are Vegetables came from USDA. Freedom of Choice.

No. I prepare my son's lunch just about every day due to his special needs so I know what he is consuming both for him and his class. I want to be aware of all ingredients in all foods/drinks which he is consuming.

If it is to keep allergic kids safe, then no. A strict rule of no peanuts or pb&j should be enough. My child's school had a peanut free table for double insurance. If for "nutritional" reasons, then NO! Since when is pizza a veggie????... More »
