My son has gone to Varnett for 2 1/2 years and most of the time has been a horrible experience. He has been left at school because the teacher did not have him in the right area, there are too many children in a class room and the teachers are unskilled and have no manners. My son cried and did not want to go to school because his teacher YELLED at him daily and I witnessed this on the school monitor with the principal. Her response was she would look in to the situation, things got better and then right back to before. I was told he could not change teachers and told the principal after the semester my son would be withdrawn, she took it upon her self to withdraw him and the last day of school for the semester he was not allowed to go. This school is HORRIBLE and I would not recommend it.
My child's teacher sent homework home and spelled President Obama's name "OBAHMAH".... need I say more! If you can't spell or know how to form a sentence correctly, then you definitely should not be teaching children ANYTHING!
2. I bring your attention to "point" number five in the review. PLEASE tell me that this "teacher" knows the difference between "their" and "they're." And more importantly, someone please tell me that he/she is teaching a subject OTHER than grammar! Well, if nothing else, I think I've accidentally stumbled upon one of the potential problems with charter schools. Not all of them, mind you; just the bad ones, which unfortunately appear to be the majority of them. (Cont'd)
Part 2: 3) After I resigned, I never received my last check. Apparently, in the contract it says something about them not paying you if you quit and don't give them 14 business days notice. I knew that going in but it was my first year and I was desperate for a job so that's my fault for signing a BS contract...but hey, it was work. What made it even worse was that on my W2 they factored in compensation I never received from them and now I'm supposed to pay taxes on that money. 5) They're so called "fund raising" idea is for teachers and students to sell cookie dough and if teachers and students don't meet the quota....you're expected to pay out of pocket the difference. REALLY?!
