I don't like the school, I don't like the teachers, over 95% of the students are awesome in my book but overall I really don't think it is a proper learning environment. I think some of the teachers need to go back to basic training sometimes or learn some of the more modern ways to teach the children. I don't like when the teachers try to apply their own methods of learning like 'bellringers' or punishment for not finishing homework. Those who fail fail and those who care will pass and not waste their time. Personally, I blame the closed in environment in which we live. Anyway, I wont stick up for the school and when I finally leave home to start a life im not ever going to ever be spotted back in Martin County ever again. This place will hopefully just become a faint memory to me someday.

I am a current student at SCHS. I love the school's teachers, but the school itself needs some help. We all make jokes of the 'Holy Roof.' It rains in Mrs. Bentley's room even when the sun's shining. But the teachers are all loving. They push me and the others in my class to learn. If you don't want to learn, they'll try to help you anyway. The teachers all get to know you and your parents. Sure, our test scores aren't the best, but I can honestly say that nobody at this school has been accused of cheating on the state exam. I would not want to get an education anywhere else.

As a final year student, I feel that I wasn't motivated to learn. Sure sometimes we would get a project here and there or try to learn how to properly write a letter. But only when there was a state test coming up in the next month to improve the school GPA above the 79.6 Goal on cats or w/e. They teach all the students on the same level, so the ones above that level, always got A+'s without no thought while the not so bright ones got lower grades. The students are not given hardly any 1 on 1 assistance and the smarter ones are not being pushed to their limits to excel their learning. Sincerely, Student of Senior Class of 2008-2009
