I will have to disagree with any parent that says that Edgewater is a bad school. My children attend school there and although I have the choice to send them someplace else, I refuse to. The staff is very friendly when I come into the school and every teacher that I have talked to about my children have been very hepful in getting issues solved quickly and without a big fuss. The only thing that bothers me is that there isnt more parent involvment..but the school isn't responsible for that..the parents have to have that desire to get in there and volunteer their time!

Edgewater is a small school which allows the faculty and staff to really get to know your child. While, the test scores are not as high as some in the surrounding area, parent involvement will insure your child gets the quality education he or she needs.

The academic programs seem to be just fine. They also have perfectly fine other activities. I am as involved as I possible can be with my childrens education. Now then, my issue is with their lack of concern for my childs continuing education, and their concern for the f-cat test. I feel that because my children are not in the f-cat testing grades, that their education is somewhat less important to these teachers and school officials. Their reading program is not good for struggling students they really should a full time reading teacher available to assist those students that are struggling to prevent them from falling further behind than they already are.
