My oldest is in 5th grade and my other child is a 1st grader. We have been a part of Serene Lake for the last 6 years. We are very satisfied with the teaching and support staff we have experienced - and love the parent / family community.

Serene Lake is a nice school in a good area. The academics seem to be harder there than other schools I've had experience with. My daughter is a bright student and has done well in all the schools she has attended, but struggled slightly to keep up with their curriculum. I think she's a little slower and more deliberate at doing the work than some other kids, and a late starter, but the school is aggressive in their expectations too. The kids are generally from better families as it's such a suburban, almost rural area. The teachers are very nice. My gripes are that for this year (2004-5) they made kindergarten full days every other day, and they don't offer morning bus service to the kindergartners or 1st graders at least, not sure about the higher grades.
