Principal leadership in this school is very strong. I have two children in the Bishop Area and Home street school in Extracirricular activities are well up to speed for a small town. I do know that some teachers are not. Children can't learn if the teacher is not willing to helpthe children. Some parents children do thrive very well in this school but i do know that most scrape by, and yes some children do lack the ability to learn,so let's not put the blame on all children. But yes on some teachers and yes on some parents. For yours is one opinion.

I wish that there was a private school option here - the school stystem has proven to be a disappointment. Although there are exceptions, most glaringly is the overall lack of expectation and attitude that the students will go on to college. And thus the academic program is structured within this attitude: basics with no passion. It must also be acknowledged here that the high degree of non-english-speaking families certainly affects the overall profile of the average child in this district. Extra-curricular programs are almost non-exisitent.
