My daughter got a wonderful education there; They had wonderful teachers from kindergarten through 6th grade!!!

My son attended kindergarten at John Diemer. It was a difficult year. Problems with bullying and a lack of communication from the principal to home led us to transfer out of this school and into another SMSD elementary school. I am so happy we made the change. The district has been reluctant to make changes and monitor the progress at the school. We felt our only option was to transfer.

Diemer offers a quality education with a well-rounded curriculum that is targeted to provide every student with a learning experience that is a solid foundation for the skills they will need to advance in reading, math and science. The extra social activities and moral principals that are fostered in this environment are exciting and adventurous opportunities that direct young people to become successful in the community as respectful and responsible citizens. The Kindergarten student I have enrolled in this school has a level of enthusiasm for learning because the teacher (Mrs. Arther) is dedicated to each student's success. This teacher works incoopeartion with the parents and takes advantage of special assistance available to recognize challenges and develop the strengths of her students. This school acknowledges the accomplishments of their students in ways that encourage continued growth.

The academics at John Diemer are marginal-to-poor. The principal is resistant to any outside influences to improve the level of student education. Bullying is a rampant problem throughout the school.
