Mother & Child Center

My daughter Grace will be leaving Mother and Children Center preschool in New Rochelle NY after participating in its 3-year-old program and 4-year-old program. She also attended the summer program two years. I have had experience with another well-known preschool in the city with my older daughter and this experience was far superior. Grace's teachers not only brought out the best in her, they helped instill a love of learning. Grace would be very upset to miss a day if she was sick. She is prereadng and understands simple math concepts, but learned these things through games, hands-on activities, creative play, use of imagination and group discussion -- not through worksheets or by 'rote.' The exprienced teachers -- especially Cindy Bloom -- bring out the best in each child and play to each child's strengths, while encouraging them to be responsible for their actions and part of a warm, thoughtful community of peers.
