The schools teachers are great. The music and arts dept are fantastic. And it has a great athletics dept.
The school claims to have a Christian education and high academic standards. I find that very hard to believe to say the least. The school dismissed my 2 kids for expressing our opinon on the disparities between White and African American kids, 12 weeks before my sixth grader's graduation. We enrolled our kids during the inception of the school 7 yrears ago but were never acknowledged for our contributions to the school. My child was an A&B student and represented the school's Spelling Bee contest. It became apparent in my quest for an alternate school HPPA's fared poorly compared to other reputable private schools. Our return on 45k investment in our kids were less than acceptable.

This past year has been the last year that my child attend HPPA. At first i was very pleased that my childgoing to get lockers, move over to the other side of the biulding, a new gym and many other things that they 'claimed' they were going to out in with our $500.00 andvance the vision fee. But when nearly none of these things they promised happened, i started to wonder where my money actually went. Besides that, we had had some problems with teachers and the students my child was in the classroom with. Yes, i will applaud High Point in their chapel and enrichment activities, but i am afraid my student will be behind when they enter the next grade. I do believe that they wouldve gotten the same if not a better experience if i had put them in a public school this past year.
