We moved to Murray from TX 5 years ago. Actually, our oldest daughter, 1st grader at the time, came with my husband in July because the school started so early in August. And we wanted to get her integrated with the community, kids, & summer programs so she'd have new friends by the first day of school. Our younger daughter & I moved in Sept after our house sold. Mrs. Janet Caldwell, the principal at Murray Elementary, was extraordinary! She emailed me photos of our daughter with her new friends each week from KY to TX while at Kid's Company, their after school & summer program. It was very hard being 12 hours away from my 6 year old & Mrs. Caldwell played a huge part in helping us make our transition. And she knows all 500 kids by name! The teachers at Murray Elementary are the absolute best! Benchmark!

This is a wonderful school that offers children the opportunity to be successful by promoting academic excellence and learning at their own pace. As a parent, I have always felt that my children are safe here and that they are being challenged to always do their best. The school stresses 6 'guidelines for success' that not only promote learning in the classroom, but also teach kids to grow up to be responsible and respectful adults. The school building has been recently renovated and combines modern technology with a kid friendly atmosphere. I highly recommend Murray Elementary School.

Murray Elementary School is student centered and loves having parents come in and help out whenever and however they can. MES provides a plethora of activities to meet all students talents and interests from Chess Club and Odyssey of the Mind Teams to offering a technology club (STLP) and extra assistance to help students reach their highest level of knowledge possible. I recommend this school to all students whether they have a learning disablity, are gifted, or are the average student. The school will set individual goals for your child and meet all of their students needs!
