As a former teacher in the district, I can offer this perspective: it's the Marshall way or the highway. If you are not from Marshall or have not lived in the area for more than 10 years, you are not welcome. That said, there are some excellent teachers among the chaff, but you can expect that from a larger district. I feel like the school board ran a great administrator off when they fired the former supt., but again, he was not from there and was outcast from the first day.

I graduated from Marshall and both of my children have been in this school district since Kindergarten (both at teens now). This school district has awesome teachers. So far my kids have loved every one of their teachers and I think that is because the teachers care about their students. Both of my children are very involved in extracurricular activites, from sports to clubs. (there are many to choose from) I think as long as you are a parent that is involved with your students life and have reasonable expectations of them they will do well anywhere but Marshall School really has a lot to be proud of.

I beleive that this school has come a long way. It has excellent extracurricular progams. It has wonderful teachers. I'm glad I live in a place that has such a wonderful school system. My children always score in the top 10 percent in the nation on their map scores, that just goes to show you that we have teachers that are qualified to teach.
