I have a second grade daughter at Andersen Academy. I appreciate the high level learning which the students are taught in Mrs. Schiff''s classroom. My daughter is truly motivated .

I graduated from Andersen in '85. My Son graduated from Andersen in 2004. My Daughter is in 3rd grade at Andersen. My brother and younger sister also went to Andersen and graduated. We loved it there and had no problems. My daughter loves it there. We love the teachers. I volunteered when both my kids were in Pre K and Kinder. There are plenty of parents that show they are concerened about their childrens future and are involved along with the teachers. They have fixed the school somewhat. I don't understand why they would want to close the school.

One of my girls is in the Special Ed program in Ms. Geraghty's class. The other is in the Blended program with Ms. Conroy and Echevarria. I work in educaton, and I have high expectations, so I didn't know what to expect with Andersen. I was really impressed. The teachers are very sweet, patient, constantly keep us informed (through email, notes, class letters, and phone calls), and are interested in finding out our daughters' needs and interests. Both girls have adjusted well and like school. Also, the parents of the other kids are very friendly, involved and supportive. The child to teacher ratio is low (2 teachers, 2 aides to 20 kids for the Blended and 1 teacher, 2 aides to 10 kids for the Spec Ed class). Most days there is a volunteer parent in the class to help out, too. It has been a great experience for us.

My preschooler went here for the special needs programs they offered, Speech and dev. delay integration classroom. Seriously disappointing. The preschool itself though was nice. They switched out themes monthly and kept things interesting and had lots of supportive volunteer help and teachers. Nice families and children too.
