It is essentially a school for people who wish to excel in their sport. MOAEE is a good concept, but needs actual teachers to present the ideas. History and English are filled with essays and multiple-choice tests with minimal comprehension but develops the student's writing and research skills. Math and Science are extremely difficult with nobody to teach them, so that can be a problem. This leads to a solution that is most likely the best part about this type of schooling: Taking classes at the college. The college classes give a lot of credit for what is arguably easier work. I would say that if your child is most concerned with graduating and pursuing sports, then this school is right for him/her. If he/she is more interested in social activities, then the online classes pretty much take away any non sports-related leisure.

Great school for my son whom is a self motivated student and high achiever. There were still difficult times when he fell behind, but the available classes within the online schedules he was able to take classes that would not normally be available within the regular high school. I highly recommend this schooling situation for students and parents that don't mind a challenege, yet are able to keep their teen on a schedule that suits their needs.

We were originally concerned with the level of academics and it's repercussions on college applications. Our worries were unfounded however as we feel that our daughter graduated with a fine education, was admitted to several colleges of her choice and has done fine. The charter school turned out to be a wonderful experience for her as she was able to persue her love of ski racing and still receive a quality high school education. We were very pleased by her experience.
