I just recently graduated from GV (Class of '08) and I can truly say that this school's excellent staff has prepared me for the rough road in college. I among a couple other students ventured off into the outside world known to Bakersfield, and am now studying at Cal State Fullerton. At Golden Valley I felt like it was my home away from home, there I felt like I always had someone to help me when the going got tough and laugh with me along the way. The various programs such as Drama, Choir, AVID, and the various sports teams and organizations that I was involved in molded me into a well rounded person and has helped me manage my time wisely. Although this school is far from perfect, it has its kinks and sorts but nonetheless it is indeed a helpful school.

This is a great school to be a part of and I and many of my peers enjoy being a student at this great school.

I have had great opportunities to meet with many students, administrators, teachers, and even the principal; by getting involved in various activities. Three of my five children attend there; freshman, junior, and senior. As they get involved with sports and/or the fine arts programs, I have had the chance to see what goes on inside the school and their programs. I believe the programs are excellent and so are their teachers, however they have no support. The support I'm talking about is parents. Many say it's due to the area we live in, but I don't agree. It has to be a family setting. Does that family want a high school graduate, then a college graduate? Or is it easier sitting back and seeing what your son/daughter will make of themselves on their own? It shouldn't work that way. Put some time aside and get involved with your childs activities!
